The New Boredom

The above link is a short read and very well worth it. I’m really interested to see what journalism schools are going to do about the whole lack of newspapers as a medium for news distribution in the near future. I really want to talk to an old timer who has seen cable news “reporting” arrive on the scene and how that compared to the good old days. Will journalists ever be public servants funded by tax dollars like teachers?

To at least present the facade that I’m not always bored, I will be posting a photo with each post from now on. It will be a picture that for some reason or another, got me excited. None of them will be mine, they will just be pictures that I stumbled upon while bored and surfing the interwebz. Even in my boredom, I am usually pretty excited.

Summer time, the ocean, being young. Love it.

Say what you will about Lars Von Trier but the guy makes movies with more interesting premises than just about anyone else these days. You’re pretty much garaunteed to either love or hate his films (and him consequently) which is quite a feat in itself. Not many filmmakers can be so polarizing. I’d put Dancer in the Dark and Dogville both in my top 25 movies.

I’d also put Charlotte Gainsbourge in my top 25 Classy Ladies list.

So when Lars Von Trier makes a movie with Charlotte Gainsbourg that only has one other character (Willam Dafoe) that is a horror film about a couple trying to salvage a relationship in the woods and the poop hitting the fan… well, very excite.

Hopefully IFC Films can get this thing released somewhere near me so I can see a nice film print of it. But if the uptight squares have to ruin all the fun of art, I’ll take a pre-ordered dvd if I must.

I’m too lazy to write anything worth while right now. You see, yesterday I rode Hall Ranch again and after bleeding all over it on wednesday, I picked out some new lines there and actually figured out the flow of the place. Errrybody else beware, that trail is now mine.

So due to being tired and having to move, here is a lazy post of iphone photos from recent times. Dumped:

This is how I spend my summer weekends, always hanging out with sweaty dudes. Oh and making videos that don’t have my name in them.

This time the setting was New Mexico. The air was damp like a wet-nap. The cool breeze was most cooling on my mustache. And the rocks were as slippery as eels. Ambiance, bitches. Get some.

Chris Boice is pretty good at riding bikes. Joey is pretty good at breaking bikes.

I guess this video didn’t suck, it seemed to make it’s way up on the Yeti site pretty quickly.

This is so strange. But the animation is quirky and that alone is worth posting. Aside from that it also introduces the compliment of being “breakfast” not to mention “lunch,” “dinner,” and “midnight munchies.”

Not sure what else to say about this.

I just rode Hall Ranch today and sneezed pretty hard in the middle of the ride. Alergies are kicking. Anyways, it gave me a bloody nose (but then, what doesn’t these days?) and instead of pulling over and taking care of myself, I just kept riding. I got blood all over the trail and my face and my shirt. I think I scared the pee pee out of some hikers on the way down. Sorry for partying, hikers. Also worth noting on that ride: I turned right! Hoozah!
